Media Size Guidelines

Why Media Size Matters

Common Questions

What happens if my image is the wrong size?

WhatsApp will automatically crop or resize it to fit the chat bubble. This may cut off important parts of your image. Use the recommended aspect ratios to avoid this.

Can I use GIFs?

WhatsApp templates do not support GIF files. Use a short MP4 video instead.

Why does my video fail to upload?

Check that your video is under 16 MB, uses H.264 video codec with AAC audio, and is in MP4 or 3GP format. Videos with unsupported codecs or multiple audio streams will be rejected.
